THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE NATO SUMMIT IN ISTANBUL
CALL FOR ANTI-OCCUPATION, NATO AND BUSH DEMO ON 27TH OF JUNE
Dear Friends
The NATO Summit in Istanbul will take place on 28-29 June, Monday and Tuesday. We have been trying to organize a demo with other anti-war, anti-nato organizations. After long discussions on 4th of June, Friday we have decided to have one demo in Ankara on 26th of June since Bush is coming Ankara first. Then have one big demo on 27th of June, Sunday in İstanbul. We will call for all activists from all over to Istanbul.
The organizations who call for demos are: Global Peace and Justice Coalition, Union Against Bush and Nato, Committees Against Occupation, KESK (the Confederation of public trade unions), DISK (Revolutionary Workers Union) , Hak-Iş (Workers Union of Islamic Workers), TMMOB (Chambers of Engineers) , TTB (Union of Medicals). These are covering all anti war organizations in Turkey.
We are expecting thousands of demonstrators in Istanbul on 27th. We are calling all anti-war activists from world to attend the demos on 26-27 of June.
