With the wish of a world without war….
We have left another year behind. The every second of 2004 has been determined by the attempt of the occupation powers, USA, England and their allies of turning the world into a dangerous, unenjoyable, uneasy ruin. Particularly, the occupying violence directed to Felluce in November, with its destruction and devastation, has not only been one of the most important black marks of 2004, but also it has been a black mark of the history of global capitalism.
Nevertheless, we are not hopeless… 2004 has witnessed a global struggle, not only against the barbaric occupation, but also against the war and militarism. On the one hand, the inspiring resistance of the Iraqi people against USA and its coalition, on the other hand the anti-war movement that organize itself as a global resistance, followed up the imperialists throughout 2004.
In Turkey, we have had the ‘DO NOT COME BUSH!” campaign against the NATO submit, a anti-capitalist festival called BARIŞAROCK, “NO BUSH” campaign during the USA elections, and hundreds of actions, meetings, concerts against the occupation and violence in Iraq.
We are all part of a struggle that keeps the honor of being human, consequently we are happy.
We hope that 2005 will be stamped by the energy of the mass anti-war movement, the sprit of the global solidarity, the usual determination against the people considering themselves as the masters of the world.
We are not only hoping, but also we are struggling and organizing.
We are preparing 19 of March. In Turkey we will be having a campaign called “DO NOT BE A PART OF USA OCCUPATİON!”, and end of the campaign we will have a big demonstration the day of global action, 19 of March. Until then, we will have an international symposium in February, a big concert in March, and lots of meetings in everywhere of Turkey
We know that the day of global action will be bringing together millions of people, who are against the war. We wish, we will create a new year all together that the warmongers will be deafened by the slogans of “Global peace, global justice.”
